Creating a custom action

A custom action is used to run a custom workflow action based on a Java class you previously created and added to your system.

Before you begin

Before you create a custom workflow action, you must create a custom workflow class.

About this task

To create a custom action, open the applications menu and go to Content > Web Content Management and then click New > Workflow Actions > Custom Action.
  1. Defining identification details for the custom action
    Specify identification information for the custom action, including the name, title and description of the custom action.
  2. Specify a location for the custom action
    When creating a custom action you can specify the location of the custom action.
  3. Defining custom action properties
    Define the custom action properties by selecting a custom workflow plug-in and defining related properties.
  4. Define additional custom action properties
    Specify properties for the custom action, including the list of authors and owners associated with the custom action.
  5. Defining custom action access settings
    Specify the access control settings for the custom action to determine which users have access to the custom action and their level of access.
