Creating project templates

Projects help content authors group and manage changes across the website. From the site toolbar, content authors can create a new project or use a project template. They can also create a project template from an existing project. When you are preparing the authoring environment, you can use the Web Content Authoring portlet to create and delete project templates.

About this task

To create a project template, open the applications menu and go to Content > Web Content Management and then click New > Project Template.
  1. Project template identification
    Specify identification information for the project template, including the name, title and description of the project.
  2. Project properties within a project template
    Define the default project settings for any projects that are created by using a project template.
  3. Project template approval settings
    Specify the default project approval settings for this project template.
  4. Project template custom actions
    Specify the default custom actions for this project template.
  5. Additional project properties
    Specify additional properties for the project, including the list of authors and owners associated with the project.
  6. Granting project template access
    Specify the access control settings for the project template to determine which users have access to the project template and their level of access. These settings do not control access to the projects created using this project template.
