Creating a file resource component

You create a file resource component when you want to reuse a file resource in multiple places in your website.

About this task

To create a file resource component, open the applications menu and go to Content > Web Content Management and then click New > Component > File Resource.
  1. File resource component identification
    Specify identification information for the component, including the name, title and description of the component.
  2. Specify a location for the file resource component
    When creating a component you can specify the location of the component.
  3. Selecting a file resource
    Use the file resource element to select a file to store in this component.
  4. File resource component properties
    Specify properties for the component, including the list of authors and owners associated with the component.
  5. Granting file resource component access settings
    Specify the access control settings for the component to determine which users have access to the component and their level of access.
